Kuntoro Boga Andri, SP, M.Agr, Ph.D, is a graduate of the Bogor Agricultural Institute in 1998. He is an alumnus of the Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Socioeconomics, Faculty of Agriculture, IPB. Born in Banjarmasin in 1974, he was began working as a researcher at the BPTP Karangploso, East Java.
From 1999 to mid-2000, he represented East Java Province in a collaborative research exchange program in Japan. He then continued his graduate studies in Japan from 2002 to 2007. He earned his Master of Agriculture degree in 2004 in the field of Agricultural Economics and Marketing from the Graduate School of Agriculture, Saga University, Japan. He received his Ph.D. in 2007 in Agricultural Economics and Policy from the United Graduate School of Agricultural Sciences, Kagoshima University, Japan.
Kuntoro Boga achieved the position of Associate Researcher in 2010 and became a Senior Researcher in 2017. Throughout his research career, he has been very active in both domestic and international research collaborations, serving as a team member and leader, and engaging in international projects as a Collaborating Scientist, Technical Consultant, and project coordinator for The Indonesian FAO Project, Bioversity International (CGIAR Consortium), ILRI (International Livestock Research Institute), ACIAR (Australia), and AVRDC (Taiwan) Project Development.
His structural career began at BPTP East Java (Malang), where he served as Program Coordinator from 2014. He was then appointed as the Head of the Agricultural Technology Assessment Institute (LPTP) in West Sulawesi (February 2016), Head of BPTP Riau (September 2016), and Head of Balittas (Indonesian Research Institute for Sweeteners and Fiber Plants) in 2018. From March 2018 to July 2024, he held the position of Head of the Public Relations and Public Information Bureau at the Ministry of Agriculture. On July 17, 2024, he was appointed as the Head of the Plantation Instrument Standardization Center.
He has received several awards and recognition from international institutions, including the Yoshinogari Goodwill Ambassador of Saga Prefecture for collaboration and cultural exchange from the Governor of Saga Prefecture, Japan (2000), and the IVLP (International Visitor Leadership Program) from the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, U.S. Department of State, United States (2016).
